SOME BACKGROUND

The story begins with “Mina’s Place” which was purchased in 1919 from a Sears and Roebuck catalogue by Mina and her husband Walter.  They eventually sold a piece of their land to Mina’s sister Nora in 1930.  Nora, along with her husband Hugh, built their Sears home right next door.

Mina and Nora each had one daughter who remained as close as sisters throughout their lives. In 1955 the property was split a third time, and Noras daughter and husband built their forever home on the property where they raised their 5 children.

Lastly, in 2018 Noras granddaughter and her husband built a home on the property and gave it the name of Footprint Farms.

IS FOOTPRINT FARMS A WORKING FARM?

The name Footprint Farms is a nod to the footprints left by all who have been here throughout its 100 plus years that includes four generations.  Although not an actual working farm, in the past we have had chickens, ducks and lots of fruits and vegetables grown.  We currently have two goats, Mr. Gregory McFenwick and Mr. Oliver Sweaters, along with two dogs Karl and Greta.

The Boundary Home was acquired in 2023.  It was built in the early 30’s and has a lovely dining room.  This was a neighborhood friend’s home back in the 70’s that once had a well-worn foot path between the two properties.  You remember… back when kids played outdoors.

All three homes have been updated for today’s comfort, while keeping the charm and the history of the past. (Remember getting milk delivered by the milkman?  Mina’s Place still has the Milk Chute outside the house!)  We hope you will enjoy the homes and their stories as much as we do.  They are decorated with a nod to their historic period without feeling like a museum.
